That is how I understood the power of art, and how it can influence so many minds and I surrendered to it,” says Jagadish. It would take hours and they would wait patiently. “When I sat down to paint, people would gather to watch the painting take form. Jagadish is a commerce graduate but he never thought of pursuing any profession other than as an artist. When he was ten years old, he had his first solo exhibition and it was of landscapes. Jagadish says that his parents, V Gopal Rao and Parimala, and elder brother Prahlad have always been supportive of his pursuit. “There was a spiritual atmosphere at home, with regular discourses and singing of bhajans, and that inspired me to start painting gods”. “As a child, the use of colours and strokes always fascinated me,” he says. He started painting when he was five years old. At this show, titled Krishankalamruta, twenty five paintings of Krishna Leela by different artists will be exhibited. Jagadish is working on few series, including one for a 2018 show in UK.
